General Comment hahaha my favourite and uhh its pretty self explainatory so yeahh. This left a backlog of unused Dave songs waiting to be let out. I'd take either of those two over anything on Soap Opera.
It had nothing to do with the sentiment. Steve and Paul went home, and me and Sid decided to go to Berlin, because it was the maddest place to go. You are to be commended for quite an exhaustive survey of the Kinks' albums.
The Kinks were the most English of their contemporaries, and they were innovative in looking towards the British musical traditions of pop and music hall as opposed to country and blues, and it's often said that being too English was one of the reasons they weren't successful in America.
Aside from "Working At the Factory" which kicks things off in fine, anthemic style, there's not much from side one I want to hear again except for the white reggae-meets-"Penny Lane" social satire of "Video Shop". Repeated listenings have revealed that the songs are actually quite accomplished, and Ray's lyrical sensibility hasn't diminished.
Ok, I'll give'em to ya for a coupla quarters, I'm no feelings sex pistols song meaning in Waterloo thirstin' for a Coke The no feelings sex pistols song meaning in Waterloo includes the original album, a disc of rarities, another containing live recordings from Europe, a page book and a DVD featuring several live performances on the S.
You'll enjoy it. The rest of the lyrics were representing everybody around me, since these are not lonely-boy problems; this is what everybody faces, but nobody faces up to. This one came out on Columbia, which makes it the fifth label they've been on; the preponderance of record labels owning their back catalog is why their back catalog is a mess - no box set, no reissues with bonus tracks, shoddy quality CD pressings, etc.
Not a bad show. Or just close your eyes, listen to this album, and you'll already be there.
